I recently storyboarded Bruno Mars' new music video "Gorilla." Cameron Duddy was the director and it was a really fun project to be a part of. Here's a few of the boards I did.

Uggy Studies
Some character sketches for a new project I'm noodling around on. It's about a dog. And he's named Uggy. Also, he's kinda weird looking.

Comic-Con 2013
After years of toting around homemade zines hot off the Kinko's photocopier and doing the small press thing with my friend Zach (check out his work, good stuff), this was my first time at Comic-Con with a book from an actual publisher - oh yes, pretty exciting. In this case it was a twofer, both from Archaia (bonus that it was a company that I've been a big fan of for quite sometime). First was the premiere of The Thrilling Adventure Hour which I did coloring for and second was a teaser for Moon Lake 2 in which I penciled/inked/colored a segment. I can't begin to tell you how surreal and incredibly awesome it was to see something I'd worked on sitting on a bookshelf and looking all legitimate!
OH YEAH!
OH YEAH!

Cartoon Art Museum Exhibit
I've been a big fan of the Cartoon Art Museum for a while (I'm so bummed I couldn't make it to SF in time to see the Sam Kieth exhibit, argh!), so it was really cool for me to learn that some of the artwork I did for the "Thrilling Adventure Hour" graphic novel is currently being featured in their new exhibition. So quoth the press release:
Pretty cool, huh? Oh, and here's the flyer for the exhibit (not my design):
The Thrilling Adventure Hour (TAH) is a live stage show in the style of old-time radio performed monthly at the Largo of the Coronet Theatre in Los Angeles, California since 2005. Each episode of the show features original stories written by Ben Acker & Ben Blacker. These stories are performed by the WorkJuice Players, a supremely talented and quite friendly troupe of comedians and actors from stage and screen. This cast plays characters from an ever-evolving array of recurring worlds and genres including BUT NOT LIMITED TO space westerns, hobo fairy tales and screwball romantic ghost stories. In 2011, TAHstarted podcasting recordings of their performances under Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist Industries umbrella to both success and acclaim. In 2012, TAH and Quixotic Transmedia ran a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign that enabled TAH to expand into other media, including a TAH graphic novel that will be released nationwide in late August 2013.
The exhibit features digital reproductions from TAH graphic novel anthology, . The exhibit showcases work from artists Heidi Arnhold, Jordie Bellaire, Randy Bishop, Casey Crowe, Lar deSouza, Joanna Estep, Evan Larson, André May, Chris Moreno, Natalie Nourigat, Joel Priddy, Evan “Doc” Shaner, and Jeff Stokely. The exhibition will also feature exclusive artwork inspired by TAH from renowned artists Jackson Publick (The Venture Bros.), Ben Edlund (The Tick), Dustin Weaver (Avengers, Astonishing X-Men) and cover artwork byTom Fowler (Mad Magazine, Mysterius The Unfathomable). The exhibit was facilitated by Joe LeFavi of Quixotic Transmedia, CAM’s Roy Zemlicka and Archaia, the publisher of the TAH graphic novel which, again, will be released in late August 2013.
The Thrilling Adventure Hour Reception will be held at the Cartoon Art Museum in August, 2013.

Belwas
Just caught the latest episode of "Game of Thrones" and, man, was it awesome! Thought it was high time to do a sketch of one of my favorite characters who didn't make it into the series.
C'mon, wouldn't you love to see the live action version of that?
