Happy Election Day!
And in honor of this once every four year event I present to you one of my favorite presidents, William Howard Taft. Enjoy!
Don't know about Taft's infamous/awesome 'bathtub incident'? Have your mind blown HERE.

And the Halloween Hits keep coming...
It's been a little while since I did a post for Tag Team Tuesdays, the blog I do with my friend Zach. Well, we finally got it together and did a Halloween post, the theme - the werewolf version of our dogs (if I can ever find a way to work my dog into a drawing, I'm there). In this instance Charlie finally gets to be the massive, snarling beast he always wanted to be/thinks he is. Click HERE to mosey over to Tag Team Tuesdays to check out Zach's great version of werewolf Jetta.

Travel Sketches: Pont du Gard
And here's another quickie.
Single most amazing thing I saw on my trip - the Pont du Gard. Built by the Romans about 2000 years ago, this aqueduct bridge stands 160 feet high and is in shockingly good condition. No diving into the river from the bridge is allowed though. I asked. No dice.

Travel Sketches: Amboise
Just got back from a trip to France where I christened a new sketchbook with a bunch of doodles from some of the cool places I stopped off at. Starting things off was this one from the town of Amboise:
This is the view from just across the street from where I was staying. In the background is the castle that overlooks the city, or if you wanna get fancy/specific, the Château d'Amboise. Ooh la la.
More to come in the days ahead.

Hang In There!
Here's a few pieces from a project I wrapped up recently. The touchstone was a 'Bill The Butcher' piece I did a little while back. It was interesting playing around with that style and trying to expand upon it for the needs of the assignment. Now if only I coulda' worked in a couple of gnarly butcher knives...

Random Doodlin'
Took some time away from the daily storyboard grind to do a little sketch last night. I was listening to WTF while doing this which I think (kinda) explains the look of the guy's face and btw drawing with your tongue out always makes for better results. The more you know.

Thanks, Squawk!
I picked up a pack of blank Canson watercolor postcards a little while back and when I recently needed to send out a 'thank you,' I figured that'd be a good opportunity to try one of those puppies out. Seeing as how the gift was crow themed, it seemed appropriate for the card to follow in kind. Here's the results.

Black Axe
Was just re-reading the third issue of Black Axe and, man, is that series kicking some ass. Anyway, that creepy last panel of Celanawe venturing into the bramble made me wanna bust out the old pen & ink and draw some gnarly thorns of my own. Good thing he's got that axe.
